Amy Grat, Chief Executive Officer of ITEP since August 2010. Amy received a Master of Business Administration from USC Marshall School of Business, a Master of International Affairs from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from San Diego State University.
Amy is responsible for the overall leadership of ITEP – fundraising, strategic direction, program oversight, administrative oversight, and head cheerleader. Amy builds relationships with ITEP business partners, educators, and local government.
Bonnie Bair, Chief Operating Officer of ITEP since August 2006. She received a Bachelor of Arts from George Washington University, a Master of Business Administration in Finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management, and a Master of Science Technology from Claremont Graduate School.
Bonnie was one of the original co-founders of ITEP in 1999, and has been instrumental in growing ITEP. Bonnie is responsible for the organization’s program, its day-to-day operations, supporting the Board of Directors strategic plan, and managing planning and program development.
Seth Avergon, Senior Marketing Manager, at ITEP since May 2017. Seth received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California and Master’s degree in International Studies from The George Washington University, specializations in International Business and International Law.
Responsibilities: marketing strategy, brand strategy, and the development and execution of tactical initiatives to bring greater awareness to the ITEP brand, grow community support, and increase donations from both corporations and private individuals.
Belén Bernal, Senior Operations Manager, joined ITEP in January 2017. Belén received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the UC Santa Barbara, and a Master of Business Administration from CSU Long Beach.
Besides her professional career, Belén serves as the Vice Mayor to the City of South Gate, where she has resided for over 30 years.
Responsibilities: managing the effective delivery of daily operations including accounting, human resources, information technology, and contract compliance.
Gena Divine, Senior Development Manager, at ITEP since September 2015. Gena studied Criminology at Florida State University.
Responsibilities: create and implement fundraising campaigns, steward ITEP’s donors and supporters, and serves as the staff liaison to the Board of Directors. Coordinate grant proposal and reporting activities, manage Scholarship Dinner sponsor relations, and work closely with ITEP’s CEO to identify and cultivate new funding opportunities.
Nicole Martin Huezo
Nicole Martin Huezo, Senior Program Manager, joined ITEP in October 2013. Nicole received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Whittier College.
Responsibilities: provide direction and oversight of all ITEP-supported pathways and student internship program, lead annual coordination of ITEP’s signature GPS Your Future and Environmental Youth Leadership Summit events, support staff development, operationalize innovation in programs and maintain high standards for performance excellence.
Genetric Brown, Program Events Manager, joined ITEP in August 2017. Genetric received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and minor in Dance from CSU Dominguez Hills. She is currently earning a Master of Public Administration from CSU Long Beach.
Responsibilities: work closely with Advancement, Program Delivery and Program Development teams to create events in support of program goals and objectives. Manage signature events from conception to completion, providing support in areas of logistics, design, outreach, innovation, surveys, stakeholder engagement, coordinating event staffing, event budget management, and event after-action debriefing reports.
Ana Cortez, Program Manager, at ITEP since August 2015. Ana received a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a minor in Labor Relations from UC Santa Barbara, and is currently working on a Master of Public Administration from CSU Northridge. She is also an ITEP alum from Phineas Banning High School, class of 2009.
Responsibilities: assist ITEP-supported pathways at Los Angeles River School, Manual Arts High School, and Roosevelt High School.
Adrian Delgado, Program Manager, at ITEP since January 2017. Adrian received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from CSU Northridge, and is currently working on his Master of Arts in Non-Profit Management from Antioch University Los Angeles. He is also an ITEP alum from Phineas Banning High School, class of 2007.
Responsibilities: assist ITEP-supported pathways at Banning High School.
Golnaz Fatemi, Business Office Coordinator, at ITEP since September 2014. Golnaz received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Sociology from the University of Utah, a certificate in Human Resources Management from CSU Long Beach, a career and work counselor diploma from George Brown College, and health and life insurance licenses from the state of California.
Responsibilities: provides general and administrative support to the CEO, COO, and other ITEP team members; maintains a professional and efficient office environment; makes travel arrangements; assists in upholding company compliance with new HR laws and regulations, administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties such as benefits, compensation, and employment.
Martha Maciel, Program Manager, joined ITEP in January 2015. Martha received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and minor in Spanish Language from CSU Northridge. She is currently earning a Master of Public Administration from CSU Northridge.
Responsibilities: assist ITEP-supported pathways at Narbonne and San Pedro High Schools.
Patricia Mora, Marketing Coordinator, joined ITEP in September 2016. Patricia received a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Management from UC Irvine.
Responsibilities: assist with the successful implementation of all marketing related activities, including email campaigns, social media content, public relations, and marketing collateral. Patricia also helps optimize marketing efforts to boost donor and industry volunteer support, and build brand equity and awareness.
Kathy O’Malley, Grant Writer, joined ITEP in June 2016. Kathy received a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education and a Master of Public Health from CSU Long Beach.
Responsibilities: compile, write, and edit grants, proposals, and reports, research grant-making organizations/foundations for potential funding opportunities, maintain tracking system for proposals/reports.
Judy Orejel, Accounting Clerk, joined ITEP in September 2016.
Responsibilities: handle accounts payable and receivable duties, prepare deposits and general ledger posting, ensure vendor files are complete and maintained as needed, process payments and expense reports, reconcile monthly credit card statements, assist with monthly reports.
Alejandra Rios, Program Manager, joined ITEP in September 2015. Alejandra received a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences from CSU Dominguez Hills.
Responsibilities: assist ITEP-supported pathways at Carson, Gardena, West Adams Preparatory, and Rancho Dominguez Preparatory high schools.
Carmen Tovar, Program Manager, at ITEP since August 2013. Carmen received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from CSU Long Beach.
Responsibilities: assist ITEP-supported career pathways at Downey and Warren High School and support program development efforts, including our work in Orange County and Riverside. She coordinates work-based learning activities, implements work experience programs, employer outreach, event planning, and building and maintaining relationships.
Melissa Velasco, Development Coordinator, at ITEP since August 2017. Melissa received an Associate of Science degree in Business Management from El Camino College.
Responsibilities: administrative support for development and advancement goals, support to board and committees, assist with events, manage alumni records, events, and social pages.
