International Trade Education Programs (ITEP) is a Southern California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that connects high school students to careers.
Through partnerships with industry and educators, ITEP prepares high school students for careers in high-wage and high-growth job sectors through career exploration activities, industry mentoring, summer internships, and college scholarships.
How We Do It
ITEP supports career pathways within high schools where access to resources and positive role models is limited. We work with close to 400 industry leaders who serve as board members, speakers, mentors, and internship providers to bring valuable resources to educators fostering the development of future leaders.
Together with business and community groups, ITEP enhances school curriculum and creates a high school experience that brings confidence, choice, and opportunity to motivated students.
The ITEP Model
We serve high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and ITEP Alumni. From 9th to 12th grade and beyond, we deliver a variety of work-based learning experiences in addition to annual programs and events such as our GPS Your Future career discovery event, Day of Discovery with the U.S. Coast Guard, Oceans of Opportunity dinner and scholarship celebration, and our paid summer Internship Program.
Our Partner Industries
ITEP partners with industry leaders to enable corporate citizenship at the local level. We bring the business community into the classroom to introduce career options and opportunities to 6,400+ high school students. The end result is empowered educators, engaged professionals, and career-ready, college-prepared students who are ready to thrive in their communities.
