ITEP connects high school students to careers.

Through partnerships with industry and educators, International Trade Education Programs (ITEP) prepares high school students for careers in high-wage and high-growth job sectors through career exploration activities, industry mentoring, paid summer internships, and college scholarships.

FOUNDED IN 1999

ITEP was established to bridge the gap between the port industry’s need for a skilled workforce and the local high school’s struggle to graduate students.

WHO WE SERVE

We currently support more than 5,100 students annually in 21 career pathways at 15 public high schools across three school districts in Southern California.

HOW WE DO IT

We work with more than 300 local industry leaders who serve as mentors and internship providers to enhance the school experience and foster the development of future leaders.
